Have a look at some of the most gorgeous extreme close-up (i.e. macro) photography you're likely to see. This amazing set of twenty-one photos will start your weekend off with a bit of natural wonder.. Really awesome collection.
It's official. DisplayLink has sold one million chips! We've been happy to work with DisplayLink through our friends over at Stowe Consulting and would like to congratulate them on selling their first million.
Nothing much to see here except the 'organized chaos' that is tracking a Roomba's path over a period of time via the long exposure shot. (found over at gizmodo)
Ever wonder what it's like to ride along one one of Germany's famed race tracks? Wonder no more as Sebastiaan Bleekemolen takes us for a ride-along in a 911 GT3. It's a really cool video, and about as close as you're likely to get to a real life Forza Motorsport.
Here's a Video from LinuxFest NW which attempts to dissect precisely what's wrong with everyone's favorite OS in real, tangible terms. It's an interesting discussion made even more interesting by the fact that the projector won't hook up with the laptop initially (Linux has notoriously poor video driver support). All in all it's not bashing the OS, but rather a call to action. Apple needs one of these.
Engadget's got the skinny on the new (bigger?) Kindle with a near 10" display.. Looks like a smaller keyboard as well and it's still B&W.. It's an interesting challenge from a usability standpoint for sure to make a reader like the Kindle work.
This has been around for a while, but it's certainly worth a look if you've not seen it. It's a really nice take on managing application icons on the iphone using iTunes. I can't imagine a better way to do this, and hopefully Apple has taken notice of svdomer09's great idea.
The 2009 FIA GT Championship just started with some style over the weekend at Silverstone. As Autoblog points out this BMW M-powered Wiesmann GT was up at the front of the pack. This is definitely one hell of an awesome-looking car... but is it better looking than the Alpha 8C?
Here's a sneak peek at a new Wii title known as "Feel". It's being overseen by Takahashi Shimizu, the director who helped to popularized J-horror with his work on "The Grudge". As Kotaku points out - the control scheme is what makes this so potentially appealing - namely using the Wii remote as a flashlight.
So here's a guy who's scoured Google Maps looking for objects in the nearby (UK) landscape which closely resemble letters. He's got the whole alphabet done.. Neat concept.
