The advertising world, from an automotive perspective, may never be the same as a series of rumors (as yet unconfirmed) tell the tale of how bad things really are for GM right now.
The Story begins as GM contemplates shedding what it considers to be dead weight; namely Saab, whose sales figures are abysmal, Saturn, who was never really able to make a go of it, and Pontiac. Pontiac is the surprise here as it's such an iconic American nameplate. From an aesthetic standpoint it's also notorious as of late for slapping a bunch of

A Vette From Japan?
The second musing comes courtesy of GM inside news and is reportedly just some ramblings over at Motor Trend. In a nutshell, GM's new focus on it's core business, coupled with some recent high-profile executives in their Vette business leaving (
1 2), leaves the Corvette group as the odd man out. It's just speculation, but many think that
Toyota may take the reigns of the supercar.
